Dr. Budwig made the discovery after much analysis of the blood of cancer patients that their blood was deficient in Omega 3 but also lipoproteins and phosphatides. She also discovered that we humans had a tendency to consume too much over-processed foods and hydrogenated oils which she felt were the main causes of cancer.
Through her long and extensive testing, Johanna Budwig sort to find a cure and over time, did just that. Many of the people that Johanna Budwig treated were literally “at deaths door” yet her diet was extremely successful in curing these patients and removing the cancer cells.
The diet is very strict though with sugar and glucose forbidden as this is known to accelerate cancer. Fresh fruit and vegetables are also a key part of the diet.
But its not just cancer that the Budwig diet has had success with. Many other serious illness such as heart disease, psoriasis, arthritis and asthma among many, have also been treated with the diet and seen great results.
